4. GRAFT
Product - System
[2022]
Graft is a design exercise based on the study of the domestic environment as a non-predefined, versatile, and ever-evolving space.
The research focuses on lighting elements that are entirely free in configuration and easy to install.
The study explores the integration
of various types of lighting within a single system, ranging from diffuse and scenic to more focused task lighting.
The system revolves around “Base module” and its modular configurability. Using a single light body, various luminous objects or components can be integrated, allowing for the definition of different lighting types. The lampshades are glass bodies attached to the base module, creating different lighting performances.
The base module transforms into a lighting system through a flexible and adaptable element like the track, allowing for greater versatility in designing the system within the space.
It features an H-shaped profile, designed to accommodate the lampshades in the lower section with the electromagnetic strip and magnetic part, while also housing an LED strip and mounts for both surface and suspended installations.
The positioning of the track and the presence of various lampshades and base modules allow for high configurability, in addition to ensuring different lighting performances.
